Alabama Campus-Based Criminal Justice Degrees

The following list shows the number of campus-based colleges offering Criminal Justice degrees throughout Alabama:

Those interested in a criminal justice degree in Alabama could consider the criminology and criminal justice BA at the University of Alabama. This is a degree that is of particular interest for those who want to learn more about crime scene analysis, computer fraud investigation, studies and deviance, criminal investigation, terrorism, law and social control strategies, and anyone else who is interested in crime and deviance. Students must also choose a major, although this is something they can change if need be.

In order to complete the degree, students must also complete 36 semester hours with a grade c minimum. Courses include an introduction into criminal justice, research methods, survey criminal theories, and statistics. Additionally, they must complete 18 electives in criminal Justice and 6 400 level electives. No ancillary courses are required. And minor must be completed.

The degree is highly respected across the country. Graduates I’ve gotten to work in a variety of criminal justice fields, including attorney’s and police chiefs and they are found in law enforcement agencies, federal corrections, state corrections and more. This encourages its students to continue on to graduate programs or even doctorate degrees.
