Raymond J. Harbert College of Business is accredited by the AACSB

Today you will find that most universities online claim that they are accredited by one body or another. But which accreditations matter and which are just marketing hype?

Whether you are interested in a bachelor’s or master’s business degree from Auburn Online, you can be confident that your college education will be provided from a business school that is accredited by the AACSB, or Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

See AACSB vs ACBSP for Online MBA Accreditation

The AACSB is the most respected and important accreditation body in the world for business programs. It provides internationally known and recognized accreditation for business and accounting programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level.

When a business school and its programs are accredited by the AACSB, it has been shown that the business school meets the highest standards of quality. This accreditation shows that you are earning a high quality business degree, and it tells employers that you graduated from a quality business program.

Auburn’s business school is AACSB accredited. This indicates that all aspects of the business school’s programs, including teaching, curriculum, student learning, institutional development, and academic research quality have met the highest standards in the field.

Research suggests that many top global corporations only will recruit business school graduates who come from AACSB-accredited schools.

GMAT scores are required for admission

The Graduate Management Admission Test or GMAT is a standardized, computer adaptive test that many business schools require for admission into their program. The GMAT has sections that test your analytical writing, integrated reasoning, quantitative reasoning and verbal skills.

Some business schools today no longer require the GMAT as some research suggests that high GMAT scores do not necessarily translate into graduate school success.

However, Auburn Online still requires applicants to submit GMAT scores. The average GMAT score for students admitted into the MBA program is 572, according to US News and World Report.

High number of required on campus residencies for MBA programs

Auburn University requires a very high number of on campus residencies for its online MBA programs – five. Many online MBA programs require one or two on campus sessions. But some students may have difficulty attending that number of on campus residencies.

Many students find that on campus residencies, which can last from a weekend to one week – are an important part of the learning experience in business school. But some students may find that this level of time commitment is impossible.

If you do choose Auburn Online for your MBA, just know up front that several campus residencies are mandatory.

Only US-based students can participate in online MBA, except US military

Most online MBA programs allow international students, but Auburn Online only allows students living in the US to participate, unless they are US military stationed overseas.
