Favorite Features

Online MBA is relatively well ranked considering tuition cost

US News and World Report for 2018 states that this online MBA is ranked #57. Also, the Stillman School of Business has been ranked as a Best Business School for 2017 according to the Princeton Review.

These rankings are notable when you consider that the cost per credit hour is $1305. Forty credit hours are required to graduate, so you will pay $50,000 for tuition for this online MBA degree. This is a solid value.

Stillman School of Business is accredited by the AACSB

One of the most important aspects of earning an MBA is to be confident that your degree is rigorous, of high quality and features a challenging and up to date curriculum.

Fortunately, in the case of the Stillman School of Business online MBA, you can be confident that is the case. The online MBA is accredited by the AACSB. This is the most respected and oldest business education accreditation agency in the world. Fewer than 6% of business colleges and degree programs in the world are accredited by the AACSB.

This accreditation is especially important when you are earning an online MBA. Your employers will want to be reassured that your online degree is rigorous and demanding.

It also is worth noting that this college is one 1% of business schools that are AACSB accredited in business and accounting.

GRE and GMAT scores are not required for admission

The Seton Hall online MBA is one of the programs available in the US that do not require applicants to take GRE or GMAT examinations to be admitted. The business school believes in offering pathways for you to be admitted without taking the time and expense of taking these examinations.

You can avoid taking these standardized tests if you meet any of these qualifications:

  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.4 or higher
  • Graduate degree of any discipline from an accredited university
  • Completion of a graduate certificate in the last five years form the Stillman School of Business
  • Completion of a professional certification examination, such as CPA or CFA
  • Five years of relevant full time, professional, entrepreneurial or quantitative business experience

Several joint MBA programs are available

If you are a working professional who is interested in earning more than one graduate degree, Seton Hall has some programs that may interest you. You may earn an MBA combined with a Master of Art in Diplomacy and International Relations; an MBA combined with a Master of Science in Nursing; or a Bachelor of Arts or Science combined with an MBA. This latter option allows students to earn both degrees in just five years.

Business graduate certificates are available

If you are not yet ready for the full MBa program, you also can earn a graduate certificate in various specialties. These can be applied to your MBA program later. For example, you may earn a certificate in entrepreneurial studies, financial decision making, or international business.

Least Favorite Features

There is a campus residency requirement

You can take most of your courses entirely online, but there is a two day on campus orientation required of all new students. The cost of the stay is included in your total tuition, but you are responsible for travel costs. Some students who work full time and have a family may find this challenging.

Seton Hall overall US News rank is fairly low

The overall rank for Seton Hall as a national university is low at 124, according to US News and World Report. Its overall score is only 45 out of 100.

All courses are recorded and taken on your own schedule

This program does not feature any live classes where you have the opportunity to interact with your professors and fellow students. All classes are recorded and archived for you to view on your schedule. This is good for those who are busy professionally, but this type of MBA program lacks the camaraderie of MBA programs where you are taking at least some of your courses live with other students at a set time.
