Texas A&M is a public university that was founded in 1876. The university is ranked #69 in the US overall according to US News and World Report. This university was the first public college established in the state of Texas. Texas A&M is a Tier 1 research college and is ranked in the country’s top 10 in total research expenditures. The Mays Business School is ranked #38 in the US according to US News.

Mays Business School is highly ranked for value

According to the Texas A&M website, the business school is ranked #19 in the world in Best Value for Money, according to the Financial Times. It also is ranked #18 overall by Bloomberg Businessweek, and is the 4th ranked public MBA program in the country.

As of 2016, the full time MBA program was ranked #10 in for public universities. The US News rankings are based upon an assessment of quality from director and dean surveys; statistical indicators that check employment salary and success in placement; and how selective the program is.

Online MBA program is highly selective

For a public university, the full time MBA program at College Station is highly selective. Only 25% of applicants are admitted to the program.

Mays Business School has high retention and graduation rates

The business school at Texas A&M has a first year retention rate of more than 96%, according to its website. This indicates that most students are satisfied with the level and quality of business education they are receiving.

The four year graduation rate is solid at 66.4%, but the five year graduation rate is more than 90%. These numbers include both undergraduate and graduate programs at the business school.

Mays Business School is accredited by the AACSB

All of the business programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business or AACSB. This is generally regarded as the most respected business school accreditation body in the country.

Students who have graduated with a business degree from a school that is AACSB-accredited have shown that they have a high quality degree that meets rigorous business education standards.

High base salary on average compared to cost of MBA

US News and World Report states that the cost of the full time MBA at College Station is $16,000 per year. It also states that the average base salary for graduates is $103,000 per year. This means that the total cost of the degree is in the range of $50,000. This is a solid investment for that high of an average salary.

Also, the magazine reports that 77% of graduates are full time employed by the time they graduate.

Full time MBA can be completed in only 16 months

The Mays Business School full time MBA is 49 credit hours and can be earned in only 16 months. The normal length of time is 18 months but students can attend classes in three terms during the first year. If you take 12 credit hours each term, 36 hours can be completed in the first year.

Least Favorite Features

No online MBA offered from College Station campus

The main campus at College Station has a full time, evening/part time and executive MBA program. There is no online MBA. You need to attend one of the satellite campuses at Commerce or Corpus Christi for an online MBA.

GMAT or GRE scores are required

GRE or GMAT standardized test scores are required to be considered for admission. Some universities are no longer requiring standardized test scores, but Texas A&M still requires them, whether you are taking the full time, part time, online or executive MBA.

Very high out of state tuition cost at Texas A&M Corpus Christi

The in state cost of tuition for the online MBA is very affordable at only $410 per credit hour at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. But students who are attending the online program from out of state must pay a high $2571 per credit hour. Many online MBA programs have the same cost for both in state and out of state residents.
