The University of Maryland and the Robert H. Smith School of Business offer a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Students learn from highly regarded faculty who offer a cutting edge curriculum. Students also have the option of earning their bachelor’s and master’s degree in five years so they can sit for the CPA examination.

This accounting curriculum offers a strong educational foundation for dynamic careers in public accounting and management. Students may work for private companies, government, nonprofits, and some go into consulting.

The bachelor’s degree requires 120 hours to complete. But if you want to become a Certified Public Accounting, you must complete 150 credit hours of college education to take the exam. However, Maryland will allow you to take the CPA exam before you earn 150 credits if you have at least 120 credits, have a degree, and have met certain education requirements.
