The University of Tennessee Chattanooga offers a Master of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in data science. You are required to complete at least 33 semester hours of graduate work to include a thesis, or 36 credit hours that include a project at the end of the program. Students who get into the program and lack academic experience in some areas must complete up to 18 hours of coursework in mathematics or computer science courses.

All students who are accepted into the program need to complete 15 semester hours of mandatory courses from the computer science classes that are highlighted below.

Students may elect to do a project rather than a thesis.
