It is common for business systems analysts to travel extensively in order to gain a better understanding of new business methods. They also identify future needs and put measures in place to anticipate these, using the resources available at present. Furthermore, they provide advice on how resources can be best allocated in an effort to minimize waste and make all processes more efficient, thereby driving profitability.

A business systems analyst is generally required to have a bachelor’s degree as a minimum, but a master’s degree is preferred. Furthermore, many hold Certified Management Consultant (CMC) certification.

Education Requirements

While the majority of business systems analysts have a bachelor’s degree at least, it is now increasingly common for a master’s to be required, particularly the master of business administration (MBA). The CMC certification can be obtained through the Institute of Management Consultants USA (IMC USA).
